Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the office location in advising and supporting a wide range of legal matters that arise with a U.S.-based company maintaining global operations. Practice areas include: privacy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) law compliance, corporate governance, legal incident response, legal inquiries, data governance and basic contract negotiations. 

Responsibilities

• Corporate governance
• Legal incident response management,
• Drafting of privacy and AI policy documents and procedures to comply with relevant laws and regulations,
• Perform general legal contract needs,
• liaise with outside counsel on various legal matters,
• Assist in the preparation and review of external requests for information,
• Research and advise on relevant legal issues, when necessary,
• Ensure that advice provided is consistent with the relevant regulatory requirements and ICE policies,
• Liaise with ICE business areas and provide advice and assistance as requirements might arise,
• To be an enthusiastic and professional member of the legal department.

Knowledge and Experience

• Licensed attorney in any US state. Position is suitable for 0 to 5 years of experience.
• Excellent communication skills are key; ability to attentively listen, actively engage, and concisely and effectively communicate in oral and written form.
• A strong work ethic and action-oriented interest in taking on increased levels of responsibility.
• Ability to work autonomously and to adapt effectively in frequently changing working environments.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and clients simultaneously and effectively and work in a fast-paced environment; and when the situation calls for it, willingness to work off hours
• Desire and ability to learn business requirements quickly, analyze legal and business risks and propose creative, business-oriented solutions

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
