Title: GIS Analyst
Location: On-site or Hybrid in Green Bay or Pewaukee, WI
Duration: 12 Months (Potential to be temp to hire)
Job Summary:
The Network Modeler will create and maintain the network and SCADA models of the distribution, substation, and transmission systems within the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
These models represent and accurately reflect the current state of the electric systems, which are both manually and automatically updated by device status changes and communications to field devices.
He models provide status and information about the network and are used to operate the network, and need to be built, validated, and maintained using application principles, practices, and the software solution.
Works on software applications and issues that are of moderate scope and complexity.
Works with limited direction and plans work independently based on the goals and objectives of the team and business unit.
As part of a team, transacts day-to-day technical business with a competent knowledge of the work.
Heavy focus on the GIS side, pulling data and loading it into the ADMS.
Loading circuits, troubleshooting what occurs when they fail, and ensuring a process is managed to handle failures
ArcGIS and Smallworld experience are highly preferred
Job Responsibilities:
Builds and maintains network displays for distribution, substation, and transmission views
Completes SCADA mapping of electrical devices
Understands internal views and how to build and maintain them
Understands how to create, validate, and maintain distribution automation and one-line composite views
Provides analysis and validation of auto-generated views
Applies analytical skills to import GIS information, troubleshoot errors, and develop solutions
Provides guidance by defining the data cleanup scope for the GIS team
Provides analysis and troubleshooting for testing and commissioning new devices
Provides technical support for point to point testing
Proficient with business standards to review, analyze and confirm network model and substation validations
Develops symbols and symbol profiles within ADMS
Responsible for facilitating other data feeds into ADMS (load profiles, customer data, etc.)
Analyzes and promotes model changes into ADMS network
Develops and analyzes additional data sources for ADMS
Management of non-telemetered points for their model configuration (catalogs, tags, notes)
Effectively completes issue reporting and communications with other teams
Reviews work of less experienced team members.
Additional notes: With regard to developing and analyzing additional data sources for ADMS The worker will load data from open C, fleet systems to the ADMS
Requirements:
4 7 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree(degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering. Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, MIS, or Engineering) and strong GIS skills (ArcGIS, Smallworld) are mandatory.
Creating and maintaining electrical network models in Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure or any other similar ADMS.
Key Duties:
Import GIS data troubleshoot errors define data cleanup scope for the GIS team.
Analyze and troubleshoot new device testing and commissioning.
Promote model changes into the ADMS network.
Load data from sources like OpenSea and fleet systems into the ADMS.
Core Task: Create and maintain network models (distribution, substation, transmission) in the Schneider Electric ADMS or any other similar ADMS.
Technical Skills:
Strong GIS expertise.
Proficiency with ArcGIS and Smallworld (ideal).
Familiarity with Schneider Electric ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System)
