Role Summary: Join our team as the Catering Manager, who will service our unforgettable events that blend southern grace with refined hospitality. From romantic ocean front weddings to elegant resort gatherings and small meetings, this role turns vision into experience.
Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.
Reports To: Director of Catering & Conference Services
Core Responsibilities: - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with repeat clients to encourage loyalty and future business.
- Be our on-site leader for all our weddings and events.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date client database to ensure accurate records and effective communication.
- Representing the Sanctuary within the Charleston community by attending networking events, building relationships, and maintaining visibility among local partners and event professionals.
- Communicate all event details, changes, and updates to relevant hotel departments to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with event and culinary teams to design and coordinate exceptional catering experiences.
- Partner with the Event and Culinary teams to conduct pre- and post-event meetings, ensuring events meet or exceed guest expectations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate booking activity, client communication, and billing details within the Hotel Sales and Catering software system.
- Gather and respond to client feedback to enhance service quality and foster long-term relationships.
- Support the Director of Catering & Conference Services with catering sales initiatives, including site tours, event proposals, and other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 2+ years of luxury sales and service experience.
Desirable Qualifications: - Knowledge of Versa, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce system software.
Physical Requirements: - Frequently sits or stands for extended periods while working at a desk, computer, or during meetings.
- Occasionally lifts and carries materials, marketing collateral, or promotional items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate office equipment, mobile devices, and computers.
- Uses visual and auditory abilities to read, review documents, prepare presentations, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, or via video conferencing.
- Must be able to walk and move safely during site visits, property tours, or industry events.
- Maintains the ability to work in varying environments, including hotel properties, and event venues

Schedule Expectations: The scheduled hours for this role will generally be Monday through Friday; However, they will vary based on events, client site visit demands and can include holidays and weekends. Must be able to work all weekend event days and be our on-site contact.
